It is a compound solid composed of an octahedron at the core with a tetrahedron on each of its eight sides. Its exterior outline is a cube. It is also a compound of two overlapping tetrahedra.

The word Mer-Ka-Ba as described here came from ancient Egyptian. It is composed of three smaller words meaning-- Mer: Light, Ka: Spirit and Ba: Body.
